Allara Health, a pioneering virtual care platform for women dealing with chronic hormonal issues, recently announced the completion of its $26 million Series B funding round. This injection of capital, led by Index Ventures and supported by existing investor GV (Google Ventures), takes Allara Health’s total funding to $38.5 million and will support its nationwide expansion.

Chronic hormonal conditions like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, and hypothyroidism affect 1 in 3 women, often leading to health complications such as high-risk pregnancies, obesity, and diabetes. However, getting a diagnosis and finding quality care remains a struggle for many – nearly 70% of PCOS cases are undiagnosed, and it can take up to 10 years to receive a diagnosis of endometriosis.

“Allara was founded to tackle the pervasive inequality in healthcare for women suffering from complex hormonal conditions,” said founder and CEO Rachel Blank. “We are committed to providing affordable, accessible care that addresses their health concerns, alleviates symptoms, and allows them to lead fulfilling lives. This funding will enhance our ability to deliver on this mission.”

Allara’s team of endocrinologists, OB-GYNs, nurse practitioners, and Registered Dietitians take a comprehensive approach to patient care, offering personalized, evidence-based solutions that empower patients in managing their health. After a few weeks of treatment with Allara, over 75% of patients reported increased control over their health and improved outlook on their health outcomes.

2024 marked a significant year for Allara, with the company seeing a 4x growth, expansion across all 50 U.S. states, and securing new insurance partnerships with leading health plans such as Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, and United Healthcare. The company also bolstered its clinical team, appointing Dr. Heather Huddleston, a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist, as the new Chief Medical Officer.

“Allara is revolutionizing women’s healthcare by providing personalized, expert care at scale,” said Martin Mingot of Index Ventures. “This investment will help Allara continue to bridge the care divide for women battling hormonal conditions.”
