Apple, Amazon, Google, Anthropic, and OpenAI have pledged their support to the Trump administration’s Health Tech Ecosystem initiative, as announced by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The CMS is aiming to revolutionize the US digital health ecosystem, enhancing tech access and data sharing to aid Medicare beneficiaries.

Issues like complexity, high costs, and fragmentation plague America’s healthcare system, putting pressure on patients, providers, and the national budget. The outdated infrastructure and disconnected data have obstructed quality of care and progress towards positive long-term outcomes.

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. proclaimed, “We’re tearing down digital walls, returning power to patients, and rebuilding a health system that serves the people. This is how we begin to Make America Healthy Again.”

CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz expressed optimism, saying, “With the commitments made by these pioneering companies today, we are prepared for a significant shift in the U.S. healthcare system for the benefit of patients and providers.”

The initiative promotes a CMS Interoperability Framework, including tools like AI assistants, digital check-ins, and chronic disease management apps.

Twenty-one networks, eleven health systems, seven EHR providers, and thirty companies pledged to meet CMS interoperability standards and support the plan by promoting real health outcomes with technology over the coming months. The initiative will provide seamless digital check-in methods, AI assistants for symptom checking and appointment scheduling, and tools for diabetes and obesity management.

Over sixty companies have pledged to provide results by early 2026, with new applications expected to improve patient care management, according to CMS.
