LA Investigators Probe Possible Ties Between Two Bodies and a Deadly Crash

Investigators in Los Angeles are examining possible connections between the discovery of a man’s and an infant’s bodies in different locations, and a deadly SUV accident on Monday. The California Highway Patrol Major Crimes Unit has appealed for public assistance with information about the incidents.

A body, believed to be of a girl younger than 1, was discovered around 4:30 a.m. along Interstate 405 between Culver City and Los Angeles. Another child, a girl under 10, was rescued from the scene and hospitalized, although her condition is currently unknown. The identity of the deceased child and the cause of her death are yet to be revealed.

Half an hour later, Redondo Beach police reported a fatal accident on the Pacific Coast Highway, where a vehicle ran into a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, with her name withheld pending notification of next of kin. The SUV crash is the second scene being probed.

Approximately 30 miles north in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, a potential victim was reported at an apartment complex around 7:30 a.m.. The police found a man dead at the scene and are treating his death as a murder.

“While conducting their investigation homicide detectives learned of two additional incidents that occurred earlier in the morning, one on the 405 Freeway involving two young children and a second in Redondo Beach involving a traffic collision,” an official statement from the police department said. They are coordinating with the highway patrol and Redondo Beach police to ascertain the connection between the three incidents.

Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to come forward and aid in the investigation.
