Good Morning America featured Ray Bethea in their “Ray of Sunshine” segment. Ray, head custodian for over 10 years, is known for his signature captain’s hat and his close connections with the students, consistently offering them guidance and support.

Ray’s wife expressed her joy during the surprise, stating, “It was amazing, very nice. I appreciate everything that has been done for him; he deserves every bit.”

In addition to the surprise recognition, Ray and his wife, Deloris, received tickets to see Lionel Richie, Ray’s favorite singer, in Las Vegas, along with a two-night stay at Caesar’s Palace.
