Chandler City Celebrates Diwali Festival of Lights

Next month, Chandler City is set to host a Diwali Festival of Lights celebration. The city’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Division is inviting community members to Dr. A.J. Chandler Park: Stage Plaza, located at 178 E. Commonwealth Ave. The event will take place on November 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., honoring Hinduism’s most popular festivals that symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance”.

At this free event, various performers including Kriti Dance, ABCD School of Dance, Desert Dancers, and many more will be showcasing dance styles such as Bollywood, Rajasthani, Kuchipudi and Kathak, as stated by the event organizers.

Food vendors such as Biryani Pot Chandler, Curry Junction, Desi Gaadi, Pakka Local – Sweet Magic on Wheels and Rain Cafe will be on site, offering food for purchase.

In addition, booths providing free community resources information and several cultural vendors will also be present at the event.
