Daring Durham Police Chase: Suspect Strikes Cop Car, Crashes on I-85

The Cary police in North Carolina announced the arrest of two suspects, Tremaine Mason and Deion Liles, both from Durham, in relation to multiple break-ins since January. Mason was peacefully captured in Durham. Liles was apprehended after a police chase resulting in a car crash, which led to non-life-threatening injuries, and a weapon was also recovered that Liles allegedly threw out of his vehicle during the chase.


Two Suspects In Custody for Multiple Break-ins in Cary

Cary police confirmed the arrest of two suspects linked to numerous break-ins around the area since January.

Durham residents, 34-year-old Tremaine Mason and 28-year-old Deion Liles, were identified as the culprits behind the string of residential burglaries along the NC 55 Highway and Davis Drive corridors. Collaborating with Durham Police, Mason was apprehended in Durham, without incident.

Officers encountered Liles around 9:45 a.m in the 2800 block of Campus Walk Avenue. However, he fled from officers attempting a traffic stop, triggering a police chase. During his escape, Liles hit an unmarked Durham police car and later lost control of his vehicle near Hillandale Road, resulting in a crash.

Liles sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. A weapon thought to belong to Liles, was also recovered from the crash site.
