The city of East Grand Rapids, Michigan is considering a ban on gas-powered leaf blowers, as per a memorandum released on Sept. 27.

Before finalizing regulations, city commissioners seek input from residents on banning 2-cycle and 4-cycle leaf blowers due to their environmental impacts. A likely question from the community is who will enforce such regulations, with suggestions that the public safety department might take up the role.

Local resident, Kristin Hirsch, expressed her concerns, questioning the need for a law enforcement agency to monitor leaf blower usage. Despite the inconvenience, she conceded to switching to an electric model if required by law.
