Lake Superior Knitters Continue Summer Sessions at Marquette Regional History Center

Craft enthusiasts can look forward to continued summer meetings with the Lake Superior Knitters at the Marquette Regional History Center (MRHC). The upcoming session is scheduled for 1-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the MRHC, located at 145 Spring St., Marquette.

The group intends to discuss submitting their knitted items to the forthcoming Marquette County Fair in August. This season serves as an excellent opportunity for knitting beginners, young students and experienced knitters alike to knit in unison, sharing the craft with family and friends.

Knitters facing pattern issues will find the group incredibly helpful as Lake Superior Knitters believe in collaborative problem-solving. Other members who engage in crochet are also welcomed in the group.

New participants are requested to bring a 24-inch circular needle sized 7 and a skein of yarn, preferably lighter in color. A donation ranging between $1 to $5 per meeting is appreciated, which aids the museum in preserving the local women’s fiber arts collection.

These donations also contribute to the Lake Superior Fiber Festival, slated for October 2025.
