Dexter Resident Meribeth Gandy Pezda Passes Away

We express deep sadness as we report the passing of Meribeth Gandy Pezda, a beloved mother, sister, and friend from Dexter on November 13, 2023. Meribeth, aged 55, had a profound impact on the lives she touched.

Meribeth, originally from Buffalo, NY, was the daughter of the late Robert J Gandy, Jr and Nancy Holmes Gandy. A graduate of the University of Michigan, she devoted herself as a social worker, researcher, and therapist. Her greatest joy was her family, raising her two sons, and being an active and cherished member of the Dexter community. She is remembered as a kind neighbor, compassionate friend, and a gentle soul.

She leaves behind her children James and Andrew Pezda, sisters Melinda Gandy Raboin and Michelle Gandy Bissanti, as well as her former spouse Dave Pezda. Her memory is treasured by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, including Richard and Beth Holmes, the late Susie Holmes, Karen and Charles Matthews, Marion Gandy, and the late James Gandy.

A celebration of Meribeth’s life will take place on January 20, 2024, at 2pm at the First Presbyterian Church at 1432 Washtenaw Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI. A reception will follow the service in the church’s social hall. Parking is available at the Forest Street lot structure.
