The Hashknife Pony Express Riders Visit the Post Office in Fountain Hills

On Thursday, Feb. 1, the Hashknife Pony Express riders will make their annual visit to the Fountain Hills Post Office, arriving around 3 p.m. The riders start their journey early in the week from Holbrook, reaching Payson on Jan. 31.

On Thursday at 9 a.m., the riders will depart from Payson, carrying mail bags along SR 87 (Beeline Highway). Their overnight stop will be at Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. The riders will traverse up the Avenue of the Fountains to reach the Post Office by 3 p.m. on Feb 1. The public is welcome to watch and greet the riders.

The Ride Continues to the Western Spirit Museum

The journey continues on Friday, Feb. 2, as the riders make their way down the Beeline Highway, crossing the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Community, and finally arriving in Scottsdale at the Western Spirit Museum. This marks the end of the ride.

In addition to this ride, the Pony Express riders are scheduled to participate in Scottsdale’s annual Parada del Sol Parade. This event further presents an opportunity for the public to engage with this historic journey.
