Harvard College has announced a return to requiring standardized test scores from applicants, joining other Ivy League schools in this move after making testing optional during the pandemic.

Contrary to prior declarations that it would extend the test-optional policy through the 2025-26 application cycle, the university announced on Thursday that students applying for fall 2025 admission — aiming to be part of the graduating class of 2029 — must now include standardized test scores in their admission applications.
