Individual Killed in Yellowstone Shootout with Park Rangers: NPR

On July 4, a man was killed after exchanging gunfire with police at Yellowstone National Park. The individual was making threats in the Canyon Village area and had a firearm; a park ranger was injured during the incident but is now in stable condition. The FBI, with the help of National Park Service special agents, is currently investigating the incident, and a section of the park near the Canyon Lodge is closed.


Yellowstone National Park Shooting Incident

A shooting incident at Yellowstone National Park on July 4 resulted in an individual’s death. The person, reportedly armed and making threats in the Canyon Village area, exchanged gunfire with park rangers.

A ranger sustained injuries in the encounter and is in stable condition at a nearby hospital. The FBI, in collaboration with National Park Service special agents, is currently investigating the incident.

A section near the Canyon Lodge remains closed as law enforcement continues their investigation. The National Park Service assures that there are no active threats to the public. The identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed.
