Introducing the New Health-focused Now Go Build CTO Fellowship Cohort

TL/DR –

The Now Go Build CTO Fellowship has welcomed seven new fellows focused on healthcare challenges. The fellows are using technology to deliver healthcare solutions in areas with limited resources, such as delivering maternal health information to remote populations or scaling mental health services in areas lacking professionals. The projects include using AI for telemedicine and digital health platforms, cloud and AI-driven solutions for food assistance and healthcare, free health and STEM education, digital technologies for public service delivery, mental healthcare platforms for survivors of sexual harm, and data collection tools for community mental health.

Introducing the Now Go Build CTO Fellows: Healthcare Cohort

Introducing the New Health-focused Now Go Build CTO Fellowship Cohort

The Now Go Build CTO Fellowship is excited to introduce seven new fellows leading the way in healthcare innovation, following our successful Disaster Management and Climate Resilience cohorts.

My journey from radiology to tech, starting my career in the Netherlands, has shown me how human problems are at the heart of both industries. In particular, the need for healthcare technology to reach those who need it most is clear; advanced imaging and diagnostic tools are only effective if accessible to patients, especially in resource-limited areas.

The new fellows fully grasp this challenge. They’re developing solutions that account for areas with unreliable connectivity and economic constraints, using these challenges to reshape healthcare from the ground up in a variety of ways, such as delivering maternal health information to remote populations without smartphones or using messaging platforms to scale mental health services in resource-scarce regions. They demonstrate how effective solutions emerge when technology integrates with the communities it serves.

Meet the latest Now Go Build CTO Healthcare Fellows

In Nigeria, the co-founder of Parker’s Mobile Clinic uses AI telemedicine and mobile outreach to bring healthcare to crisis frontlines. Meanwhile, U.S. Hunger’s CTO in Orlando, FL is employing cloud and AI solutions to connect food assistance, social care, and healthcare nationwide.

The leader of NextGenU.org in Minneapolis, MN is using AWS to deliver free health and STEM education across the globe, while a fellow in California uses digital technologies to improve public service delivery in health and education sectors. In Raleigh, NC, Our Wave is creating digital healing spaces for survivors of sexual harm, domestic violence, and child abuse.

In Zimbabwe, a fellow addresses mental health via digital innovation, while the Director of Technology at Jacaranda Health in Kenya is using AI to drastically improve maternal and newborn health outcomes across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Future of Now Go Build

As we approach the first anniversary of the Fellowship, I feel privileged to have worked with our original Fellows in Disaster Management and Climate Resilience. Their work has been inspiring, and I’m thrilled to share their stories in a forthcoming Now Go Build series.

Now, Go Build!
