Marquette Mountain Ski Resort Celebrates Re-Opening with Snow Party

Marquette Mountain, a prominent U.P. ski resort, hosted a whimsical ‘Heikki Lunta vs. El Niño’ party on Friday in anticipation of its re-opening on Saturday. This unique event was designed not only as a celebration but also as a symbolic invitation for more snow in the area.

The festive gathering featured food, drinks, family-friendly activities, and bonfires, offering something for everyone. The party was made even more distinctive with the addition of a mobile sauna, courtesy of Sauna on Kuuma.

“We’ve managed to create artificial snow with the current temperatures,” commented Kaet Johnson, the General Manager of Marquette Mountain. “However, we are really hoping for Mother Nature to provide us with some natural snowfall. We’ve had a touch this week, but not enough to make a significant difference. Ideal temperatures and real snow – that’s what we’re hoping for.”

Marquette Mountain is slated to open Saturday at 10 a.m. For information regarding next week’s operating hours, please visit Marquette Mountain’s Facebook page.
