Michigan DNR’s Becoming an Outdoors Woman Program Launching New Event

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is offering a Beyond BOW event this month in Marquette County through its Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) program.

BOW aims to empower women of 18 years and older by enhancing outdoor skills in a stress-free, non-competitive environment. The program also provides classes on outdoor safety and clothing.

A sunset hike is scheduled for 6 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, Oct. 25. The meeting spot is a trailhead approximately 5 miles from Marquette. Participants should hold either a Recreation Passport or a State of Michigan day pass for parking.

The hike spans 2 to 3 miles and participants need to bring a headlamp. Registration details will be updated on Michigan.gov/BOW as the event proceeds.
