TL/DR –

Hunter Biden, the president’s son, is facing a federal gun trial for three felonies connected to his purchase of a revolver in October 2018. Two of the charges relate to allegations that he lied about his drug use on a federal gun form, and the third charge is for allegedly owning the gun illegally. The prosecution’s case includes testimony from Biden’s ex-wife, ex-girlfriend, the widow of his brother, and the man who sold him the gun, with the defense arguing that location data is not definitive and there were gaps in the narrative of Biden’s actions.

Jurors Deliberate in Hunter Biden Gun Trial

Jurors have commenced discussions in the federal trial against Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son. The charges involve three felonies linked to his acquisition of a revolver in October 2018.

Despite speculation, Hunter Biden’s lawyers did not call him to testify. Before the defense rested, FBI special agent Erika Jensen reviewed text messages introduced last week. The defense emphasized that location data is not definitive and highlighted potential inconsistencies in Hunter Biden’s reported actions.

Hunter Biden’s legal team brought several witnesses to the stand, including his daughter Naomi Biden. The jury received instructions from the judge late Monday morning, followed by an hour-long closing argument from the prosecution.

The Biden family showed their support in court with first lady Jill Biden, Ashley Biden, Valerie and Jimmy Biden, and Melissa Cohen Biden all present. While President Biden wasn’t in attendance, he was nearby in Wilmington on Monday morning.

Hunter Biden faces three felonies related to his October 2018 revolver purchase. Two charges involve alleged false statements on a federal gun form about his drug use, and the third is for allegedly unlawfully owning the gun. Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Last week, the prosecution’s case included testimonies from ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, ex-girlfriend Zoe Kestan, Hallie Biden, and the man who allegedly sold Hunter Biden the gun, Gordon Cleveland.

Hallie Biden, the prosecution’s star witness, testified she found and discarded the weapon out of fear for Hunter and her children’s safety. She admitted to experiencing embarrassment and regret over her past involvement with crack cocaine, introduced by Hunter after her husband’s death.

Gordon Cleveland stated that Hunter Biden appeared to understand the form when he sold him the firearm in October 2018. Naomi Biden testified that her father seemed fine at the end of October 2018, with no signs of drug use.

Hunter Biden’s documented history of drug addiction was addressed by his lawyer, who questioned whether his client consciously left out information from the gun purchase form. Naomi Biden acknowledged her father’s struggle with addiction, but stated she had never witnessed him using drugs.

While President Biden hasn’t attended the trial, his wife Jill Biden has been present almost every day, except when visiting France for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Ashley Biden has also attended, although she became emotional and left one day.
