TL/DR –
The article criticizes Kari Lake, a former newsreader and U.S. Senate candidate, for her support of Donald Trump, despite his conviction on 34 counts of fraud. The author argues that Trump is allowed to be above the law, as he was not imprisoned despite his conviction. The author also criticizes Lake’s belief that judges who rule against Trump’s policies may be “compromised”, and her assertion that it was correct to arrest a Milwaukee County Circuit Judge accused of obstructing justice.
The former news reader and Trump cultist seems to believe no one is above the law, except her Dear Leader. And she is correct.
In America, it seems no one is above the law. Except when a convicted felon is president and his administration is deporting people without due process, including a 4-year-old American boy with stage four cancer.
Former newsreader and failed Arizona governor, Kari Lake, is attempting to live by this rule, with one notable exception – Trump.
Would only a ‘compromised’ judge disagree with Trump?
Lake suggested on Fox News that judges who rule against Trump’s illegal policies may be “compromised.”
Lake believes it was appropriate to arrest a Milwaukee County Circuit Judge accused of obstructing justice, stating, “If you break the law, you end up being charged. If you break the law, you end up in handcuffs, and it appears this judge broke the law.”
Proof that no one in America is above the law, except Trump
Despite Trump’s conviction of 34 counts of fraud, Lake said, “We just witnessed the most egregious example of election interference and an outright mockery of the rule of law in the 246-year history of our Republic.”
Trump was not hauled away in handcuffs after his conviction. “We are a country of laws, and nobody is above the law.” – Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly
Instead of prison, it was Mar-a-Lago and the White House
After Trump was elected president, he was granted what is known as an “unconditional discharge,” meaning the felony conviction remains on Trump’s record, but he doesn’t have to serve any time.
He could have received up to four years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines for each of the 34 counts he was convicted of. Instead, he gets to golf at Mar-a-Lago while his immigration enforcers deport without due process, including mothers and children.
