Legislators are celebrating the recent approval of the Education Finance Conference Committee Report. The House adopted all but one of its finance and policy provisions, strengthening the bill with a few Senate suggestions.

This robust legislation includes notable investments in the Read Act, literacy aid, a pilot project for student teacher stipends, an absenteeism pilot project, and funding for youth engagement initiatives. The funding will directly benefit local school districts and foster student involvement in government.

Collaborative Efforts in Education Policy

This bill is the result of a joint effort by Chair Dave Pinto and Representatives who were elected together in 2014, with a shared passion for funding early childhood education and K-12 school systems. The focus is on supporting learners from a young age all the way through high school.
