Michael John Juidici: A Life Well-Lived

On June 14, 2024, 73-year-old Michael John Juidici of Negaunee, MI passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his beloved family. Following a brave fight against neuroendocrine cancer, he was cared for by UP Home Health & Hospice during his final days.

Born on November 7, 1950, in Ishpeming, Mike graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1969. He dedicated 33 years to his career as a serviceman at Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company before retiring in 2002.

A fervent member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee, and United Steelworkers Retirees Club, Mike devoted 27 years to serving the Negaunee Fire Department. Despite his hearing loss, he found a way to serve the community as a member of Marquette County Rescue 131 for 16 years.

Mike cherished his time at the family camp on Helen Lake with his children and grandchildren. A sports enthusiast, he was an avid supporter of the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Tigers, NASCAR, and the Negaunee Miners. Mike also participated in local leagues for bowling, pool, and cribbage.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Colleen Juidici, two sons, and numerous cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Mary Beth, and numerous relatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee, at 12:00 Noon on Friday, June 21st, led by Rev. Larry Van Damme. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church from 10:00 AM until the start of Mass and at a following luncheon in the St. Paul School gymnasium.

The family extends their gratitude to Mike’s closest friends, UP Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Michael Grossman, and Elyssa Gregurash for their unwavering support and care.
