Superior Health Foundation has named Megan Murphy as the new executive director, succeeding Jim LaJoie who retires in the spring. With over 15 years of experience in non-profit and university-based research, Murphy assumes her new role in May. Sara Giles, the President of SHF’s board of directors, expressed excitement about the potential impact of Murphy’s vision and strategy on the region’s rural communities.

Murphy’s Background and Achievements

Murphy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and International Relations from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Western Michigan University. She served as the director for Community Health and Capacity Building for the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, managing a $6.5 million grant-making program to improve community health. Murphy joined the Michigan Health Endowment Fund in 2016 as a grants manager.

Transition period
