Driver Arrested Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Negaunee

A driver was arrested and another treated for minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Negaunee, Michigan on Friday night. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on US-41 near W. Water St.

The Negaunee Police Department reports that a 40-year-old woman, driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, collided with the rear of a Chevy Silverado, driven by a 74-year-old man. Both vehicles were traveling westbound on US-41 at the time of the accident.

As a result of the collision, the Silverado flipped, injuring the elderly driver. The man was transported to UP Health System – Marquette for treatment and was later discharged with non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman driver declined medical attention at the scene. She was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and transported to Marquette County Jail. The accident remains under active investigation, with no additional details currently available.
