After being identified as a suspect in a string of three robberies, Coldiron fled from officers. He drove south in the northbound lanes, causing police to cease pursuit. A Scout camera captured the Dodge Challenger he was driving, speeding past oncoming vehicles.

The Dodge collided head-on with a Chevrolet Equinox, bursting into flames. News Chopper 9 revealed the carnage shortly after. Both drivers, including 60-year-old Alphonso Carroll, were killed in the crash. The video footage is provided courtesy of SafetyVid.org.

KMBC interviewed the manager of a store allegedly robbed by Coldiron. He reportedly fired his gun to intimidate employees during the robbery. Luckily, there were no injuries from the robbery.
