Day Five of Nicolae Miu’s Trial Reveals Shocking Details

Nicolae Miu’s friends testified that he was shocked and silent after allegedly slashing five people on Wisconsin’s Apple River.

On day five of his trial, witnesses shared graphic details about the incident. Miu is charged with intentional homicide and four counts of attempted intentional homicide for the incident in July 2022 that left Isaac Schuman dead, and others seriously injured.

Gilma Constanza, who was tubing with Miu on the Apple River, saw Miu toss something towards the river bank after the fight.

Authorities found a pocket knife on the river bank that may have been used in the assault.

Miu’s group, which included at least six people, drifted close to another group that included Schuman while searching for a lost phone.

Despite others abandoning the phone search, Miu, equipped with a snorkel and goggles to search for jewelry, continued.

Ruiz-Leyva, a member of Miu’s group, told police that Schuman’s group surrounded Miu as a woman in a black swimsuit told Miu to leave.

\”Miu pushed her,\” Ruiz-Leyva said. After that, Miu and others sat in silence. When asked what happened, Miu replied: \”They had taken the knife away.\”

\”We didn’t discuss anything else,\” said Ruiz-Leyva. Miu looked pale and sat in silence.

He did not recall seeing any injuries on Miu.

It’s reported that Miu’s group stayed to help the injured for a long time after the incident.

An hour later, Miu was arrested near the river exit. He told St. Croix County Sheriff Scott Knudson that he fit the description of the suspect.
