TL/DR –
A family in Phoenix, Arizona, discovered their three Scottish Terriers missing from their backyard and believe they were stolen. The owner, Jonathan Crawford, noticed the six-foot-tall back gate was unlocked and all his dogs were gone. Despite the dogs being microchipped and a reward of $2,000 being offered, the family has not had any success in locating their pets, with scammers instead trying to exploit their grief by claiming the reward without proof of having the dogs.
PHOENIX – Scottish Terriers Missing From Valley Family’s Yard
A Phoenix-based family was left shocked after their three Scottish Terriers, lovingly referred to as the “Three Musketeers”, vanished from their backyard overnight. It’s suspected that an intruder broke into the family’s home, leading to the dogs’ disappearance.
The family is now thoroughly searching the surrounding areas and appealing to the public for any helpful information.
“My Dogs Are My Kids”
Just like many pet owners, the Crawford family considers their dogs – Robbie, Faustus and Dahlia, as family. “These dogs are just like my children, they’re my everything,” said their owner, Jonathan Crawford.
The Crawford’s woke up to their six-foot-tall back gate unlocked and their beloved pets missing. “I won’t stop looking for them, I pray they’re safe,” said a distressed Jonathan.
How Did It Happen?
The family was set to embark on their 4th of July weekend camping trip when tragedy struck. Despite putting the dogs to bed inside the house the night before, they discovered the dogs missing at the 4:30 a.m. wake-up call. Jonathan suspects that the dogs used the doggy door to reach outside but the unlocked–previously locked–gate, suggests foul play.
Crawford’s Plea for Help
The family has distributed fliers throughout the Valley and posted details on social media in hope of any leads. However, they have only been met with scammers trying to exploit their situation.
“I just want them to come home,” said Jonathan. The family has assured that all three dogs are microchipped as a caution for other pet owners to regularly update their contact information for their microchipped pets. A reward of $2,000 is currently being offered for the safe return of these purebred Scottish Terriers.
