Boston High School Graduate Survives Shooting in Seaport District

A recent 18-year-old graduate from Boston Collaborative High School was shot post-graduation in Boston’s Seaport District, according to Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox. The shooting, which occurred at 200 Pier 4 Boulevard near the Institute of Contemporary Art, is under investigation. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, is expected to recover.

The incident involved two crime scenes, suspected to be linked to an altercation in a garage. Despite no arrests being made, police believe the shooting was not a random act and are appealing to the public for help to identify the shooter and any accomplices.

Witnesses reported a section cordoned off with police tape outside a furniture store, with a heavy police presence on site. Aerial footage revealed detectives examining a car parked on the street.

Kevin Hayden, Suffolk County District Attorney, described the event as a “travesty,” urging those involved to come forward. Boston Collaborative High School, providing non-traditional education through partnership with six community organizations, has yet to issue a statement concerning the incident. The Institute of Contemporary Art recently announced a planned exhibition on The Gun Violence Memorial Project, slated for later this summer.
