U.S. Congressman Chuck Edwards, representing North Carolina’s District 11, is hosting a community summit on homelessness this week. The summit aims to confront the increasing homelessness rate in N.C.’s 11th district with input from six local leaders and officials.

Community Involvement in Addressing Homelessness

On Friday, Jan. 26, from 2-3 p.m., the public is invited to participate in the summit at Ferguson Auditorium on A-B Tech’s campus. During the event, Edwards will lead discussions on the causes of homelessness and potential solutions for Buncombe County and surrounding areas.

“Homelessness in Western North Carolina requires comprehensive examination to address the root issues. The escalating homelessness issue affects WNC’s residents and businesses, making them feel unsafe. Across the 11th district, constituents are urging leaders to take action and restore our neighborhoods. This summit aims to develop actionable steps to reverse the homelessness crisis by bringing together local leaders and law enforcement,” Edwards stated on Jan. 23.
