East Valley Commuters May Need to Adjust Routes Due to Road Closure

Motorists in select East Valley locations could be affected by upcoming road modifications. According to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), a significant closure is planned to begin on Monday, April 29. As part of the Loop 101 expansion project, the northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Cactus Road will be shut down for reconstruction for an estimated 60 days.

There are alternatives available for those affected by the closure. Drivers can opt to take the northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Shea Boulevard and continue on to 92nd Street and Hayden Road to reach Cactus Road. It should be noted, however, that the northbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Shea Boulevard is also currently closed for reconstruction, with an expected reopening in mid-June.

Further details about the road closure and other potential disruptions can be found on the ADOT’s official website. For up-to-date information regarding traffic conditions, be sure to check out the Arizona’s Family First Alert Traffic page.
