DUI Crash in South Phoenix Leaves One Man Seriously Injured, One in Custody

A man is critically injured and another is under arrest following a suspected DUI crash in South Phoenix. Phoenix police responded to a reported collision involving injuries at Central Avenue and Dobbins Road in the early morning hours.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with severe injuries. He was immediately transported to the hospital where he remains in critical yet stable condition. His identity has not yet been disclosed.

The other party involved, a 26-year-old male, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. He is now facing potential charges of aggravated assault and DUI. Subsequent legal proceedings are anticipated.

According to initial investigations, it is believed that the injured man attempted to make a left turn from Dobbins Road onto Central Avenue. Simultaneously, the second vehicle attempted to overtake him from the left, subsequently causing the accident.
