Six Passengers Identified from Fatal Medical Jet Crash in Philadelphia

In a tragic plane crash, six passengers aboard a medical jet operated by a Mexico-based company were killed in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday night, including a pediatric patient who had recently completed treatment at Shriners Children’s Hospital.

Details of Victims

The victims, all Mexican citizens, on the Learjet 55 aircraft before the accident near Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue included Capt. Alan Alejandro Montoya Perales, Copilot Josue de Jesus Juarez Juarez, Dr. Raul Meza Arredondo, Rodrigo Lopez Padilla, Valentina Guzman Murillo, and Lizeth Murillo Ozuna. The young patient, Valentina Guzman Murillo, was travelling with her mother, Lizeth.

Aftermath and Casualties on the Ground

An additional seventh person on the ground also died in the crash. Mayor Cherelle Parker reported on Sunday that the number of injured victims increased from 20 to 22 individuals, with five still hospitalized, three critically. Community Support and Investigation

In response to the accident, Mayor Parker urged Philadelphians to support each other. The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the crash investigation with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration and local agencies. The medical jet’s journey started in Florida, arrived in Northeast Philadelphia and departed for Springfield, Missouri. Investigators are still searching for the plane’s cockpit voice recorder.
