Marquette Middle and High School Students Shine in Spotlight on the Arts Concert

Marquette Middle and High School’s fine arts students took center stage at Tuesday night’s Spotlight on the Arts concert. Students from 6th to 12th grade, including groups like the Marquette Senior High School jazz ensemble, the MSHS chorale, and the Bothwell Middle School 8th-grade band, entertained the audience with their impressive performances.

Audience members applauded MSHS Band Director Matt Ludwig before the opening act. Ludwig, who has been with the school district for 28 years and served as the band director for almost as long, is set to retire at the end of the school year, shared Marquette Area Public Schools Superintendent Zack Sedgwick.

Besides the musical performances, students also showcased their visual art pieces for parents and guests to admire before and after the concert.
