TEMPE, Ariz. – A gun exchange between two pedestrians and a vehicle in Tempe left two people, including one minor, injured and hospitalized on March 22, according to the Tempe Police Department.

The shootout occurred near Evergreen Road and University Drive. Following the gunfire, the involved vehicle fled the scene, leaving a 15-year-old victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The vehicle was later found abandoned.

Investigations led to the identification of four juveniles linked to the car. “One juvenile [suffered] a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital for their injuries,” the police statement read.

Authorities have reported no imminent threat to the local community as an investigation into the incident continues.
