TL/DR –

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has launched a digital ad campaign aimed at female veterans, their families, and caregivers, which will run in major southeastern airports, including Memphis International Airport, through January. Using Quick Response (QR) code technology, the campaign will provide information about VA healthcare services, enrollment procedures, and resources designed specifically for female veterans. The campaign comes as the VA sees a rise in the number of female veterans opting for VA healthcare, a shift that is reshaping how the VA delivers important care and services.

VA Launches Digital Ad Campaign at Southeastern Airports to Reach More Women Veterans

The VA has initiated a digital ad campaign at major airports, including Memphis International Airport, to connect with more women Veterans, their families, and caregivers. This campaign, employing QR code technology, is aimed at educating Veterans and their loved ones about the VA’s healthcare services, enrollment processes, and women-specific resources. These resources enable a direct connection to necessary care and support.

Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr., VA Medical Center Director, Joseph Vaughn, maintains that the VA is committed to redefining healthcare with an inclusive and responsive environment. The focus is on addressing unique health concerns and preferences of women Veterans. Around 7,200 women Veterans in the regions of western Tennessee, northern Mississippi, and eastern Arkansas receive top-notch care at one of the VA’s 10 locations.

The VA has seen an increase in women Veterans choosing their healthcare services. This shift in the patient population necessitates a reshaping of how the VA delivers vital care and services. Women Veterans are diverse, spanning different ages, racial backgrounds, ethnicities, gender identities, and sexual orientations.

The VA’s healthcare teams for women treat Veterans individually and support their well-being through life stages. Services include comprehensive primary care, mental health, cancer screenings, general health screenings, immunizations, lung health, military exposures, reproductive health and pregnancy, and other specialized care.

For more information about care designed specifically for their needs, women Veterans can visit www.womenshealth.va.gov or contact the Women Veterans Program Clinic at 901-523-8990, ext. 6612.
