Donald Trump faced legal hurdles in his Florida and Georgia cases. New York attorney general Letitia James sought more information about the company supporting the $175m fraud bond Trump posted on Monday.
In the classified documents case, Judge Aileen Cannon rejected the Republican presidential candidate’s motion to dismiss the indictment brought by Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith based on the Presidential Records Act, which Trump claims gave him the authority to retain papers containing sensitive national security information.
Judge Cannon also dismissed Mr Smith’s request for a pre-trial ruling on jury instructions, calling it “unprecedented and unjust”.
And in the Peach State election interference case, Judge Scott McAfee also rejected Trump and his co-defendants’ effort to dismiss the indictment on free speech grounds.
In New York, Ms James issued a notice seeking evidence that Knight Specialty Insurance Company, which backed Trump’s bond, can pay if needed.
Trump was forced to resubmit crucial paperwork related to the bond after it was rejected and returned for correction over missing information.
