Western Michigan University’s Grand Rapids campus hosts its third annual AMP Lab Family Open House this Saturday, aiming to educate families about careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Collaborating with local organizations such as Bricks 4 Kidz, Grand Rapids Community College, and Autocam Medical, the university plans to provide children a glimpse into the world of STEM. Joanne Roehm, the senior director of strategy and operations at WMU Grand Rapids, emphasizes the importance of exposing children to diverse career paths and education opportunities early on.

The free event, taking place at 200 Ionia Ave SW, runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees will enjoy engaging activities, including watching 3D printers, observing a robot playing Jenga, and building motorized LEGO creations.
