Google Health App’s Major Update Version 5.01

Google Health app’s first significant update (version 5.01) is starting its rollout, bringing 16 additions and fixes to enhance the initial redesign. This upgrade is part of several improvements that Google is planning to introduce progressively.
The roll-out of the Google Health app Version 5.01 on Android and iOS platforms has begun. This update is in line with the roadmap Google shared last week and has been updating.
Four Key Upgrades and Updates
The enhancements and updates have been categorized into four main areas:
Nutrition Enhancements
- Custom Foods: You can now view and log previously-created custom foods. New custom food entries will be coming soon.
- Macronutrient Goal Guidance: Guidance for setting macronutrient goals has been added along with explanations.
- Third-Party Food Log Improvements:
- Fixed an issue where some meal logs from MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, and LoseIt via Apple Health were labeled as “Other” meal type, instead of the correct type.
- Improved handling of meal logs received from the same third-party app when that app is connected to Health Connect and to Google Health directly.
- Added default food names when logs from Apple Health do not have a name.
