Dramatic Weight Loss Journey: Man Loses 11 Stone in 11 Months

Discover how one man shed an incredible 11 stone in 11 months, revealing the single exercise he became ‘addicted’ to.

Overcoming Weight Struggles

At his heaviest weight of 26 stone and 10 lbs, Daniel Morris found himself constantly feeling terrible. His struggle with weight led to frequent feelings of anxiety and depression.

Before becoming the head of science at a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school, he was always conscious of sweating when entering college or school.

During his time at Birmingham University, he faced worries such as fitting into classroom seats.

Dreaming of Adventure

His life-long dream of visiting the USA to hike up the Grand Canyon seemed more like an unreachable fantasy.

“Then, of course, there was the mental aspect of it. I was often anxious and depressed,” Daniel confessed. “Any time I went somewhere new, I noticed people treating me differently – it was almost as if they felt they had to tiptoe around me or avoid me altogether.”

The Journey to Change

Despite these hurdles, Daniel decided to make substantial changes during his final year of university.

“I was due to travel across America after I completed my degree, and this became a huge inspiration for losing weight,” he explained.

Concerns about fitting into plane seats and struggling with breathlessness on hikes at the Grand Canyon fueled his determination to lose weight.

Revealing the Weight Loss Secret

Sharing his weight loss strategy, Daniel said, “I lost a stone a month during the 11 months of my final year at university, so I reached my target weight before graduation. I began with workouts consisting of walks, 15 minutes on the static bike, and strength training. Over time, this developed into a full-strength routine, and eventually, I was able to run long distances.”

His last words for anyone struggling with weight loss were, “Set smaller, more manageable goals that feed into a larger goal and most importantly–believe in yourself.”

Showing that the stereotypical ‘just big guys’ can overcome their weight challenges, Daniel is living proof that anyone can achieve their weight loss goals.
