The offender, identified as Michael F. Ickowski Jr. from Cheektowaga, managed to steal a massive $78,615.58 during his tenure as an accountant at the fitness center. The fraudulent disbursement was unveiled during investigations, which revealed he was unethically depositing the cash revenue into his personal bank account.
Legal Consequences and Restitution
In the aftermath of his illegal activities, Ickowski has made full restitution to his former employer, reimbursing the entire amount of $78,615.58 that he embezzled. Subsequently, he entered a guilty plea to one count of grand larceny in the second degree. His penalty includes a five-year probation period, and he also signed a confession of judgement as part of his plea bargain.
