Exclusive: Upscale Wellness Hub Set to Move to Livonia
Luxury Fitness Center to Open in Livonia

A former physical therapy office in Livonia is set to be transformed into a state-of-the-art luxury fitness center. Storm Fitness, currently based in Dearborn Heights, has plans to relocate to 18340 Middlebelt Road, situated between Seven and Six Mile roads.
Investing in Health and Wellness
Sahar Durant, the owner of Storm Fitness, disclosed plans to invest over $1 million into the property. The goal is to create an enticing space filled with high-end wellness and fitness services that cater to the health-conscious community.
According to Storm Fitness’s website, the members-only business offers an array of services, including group classes, personal training, nutrition guidance, a sauna, and more. The new Livonia location will also feature a health-focused café where visitors can purchase takeaway items, such as smoothies.
Wellness Approach
“We really focus on how you should be fixing the inside before you fix the outside,” Durant said. “That’s really where true healing and recovery starts.”
Durant plans to request a rezoning of the property to accommodate commercial requirements, potentially allowing for future expansion. If she were to expand, it would likely require additional approval from the city.
With luxury wellness being more accessible, Durant hopes to accommodate a larger number of clients. “But if I can only take on a certain number of people, I’m very limited. I have another half acre that might allow me to take on another 300 to 400 people.”
Planning Commission’s Approval
The planning commission voiced unanimous support for the proposed rezoning during a meeting on Tuesday, March 5, recommending that the city council approve the changes.
