Experience the Power of Oura Ring 5: Slimmer, Intelligent & More Durable
Oura’s Latest Innovation: The Oura Ring 5
As the leading brand in the smart ring market, Oura has done it again with their latest model: the Oura Ring 5. Unveiled on Thursday, the Oura Ring 5 is a slim, sleek device that promises extended battery life and overall improved accuracy.
Upgraded Features and Specifications
Available for pre-order, the Oura Ring 5 is 40% slimmer than its predecessor, the Oura Ring 4, and carries a starting price of $399 for the basic black or silver models. Alongside the release of the ring, Oura is also launching a new charging case, priced at $99, which offers a month’s worth of battery life.
Available in sizes 6 through 13, the Oura Ring 5 is waterproof up to 328 feet and features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Depending on usage, the battery can last between six to nine days.
What to Expect with the Oura Ring 5
Aside from its design, the Oura Ring 5 is equipped with more powerful sensor LEDs, promising increased accuracy in tracking your biometrics. However, it’s worth noting that it only tracks 12 signal pathways through your finger, compared to the 18 pathways of the Oura Ring 4.
The Oura Ring 5 also introduces a new feature, the Health Radar. Designed for proactive monitoring, it alerts you about concerning biometric signals before they become a problem.
Enhancements in the Oura App
Alongside the launch of the Oura Ring 5, the company is also releasing new features in its app. Live activity tracking allows you to view real-time metrics during workouts. The app also supports third-party heart rate monitors to provide live heart rate numbers.
Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing
Two notable features encompassed in the Health Radar are Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing. Blood Pressure Signals monitors your blood pressure while you sleep, detecting changes that might indicate cardiovascular strain. Nighttime Breathing, on the other hand, evaluates your respiratory patterns over a 30-day period, providing insights into your overall health and wellbeing.
Is the Oura Ring 5 Worth the Upgrade?
The arrival of the Oura Ring 5 may have come as a surprise to many, considering it’s been just a year and a half since the Oura Ring 4 was launched. While the higher starting price may raise eyebrows, current Oura owners don’t necessarily need to rush into an upgrade as many of the new software features are also going to be rolled out to older models.
However, if the claims of a slimmer design, better accuracy, and longer battery life hold up, the Oura Ring 5 could be a worthwhile investment. Stay tuned for a comprehensive review and buying advice.
