Northwestern Medicine and Peloton Team Up for Heart Health

Northwestern Medicine is partnering with Peloton to pave the way for heart health. They are introducing a 30-minute heart health walk, engaging both Peloton’s Instructor, Matt Wilpers, and Northwestern Medicine’s esteemed cardiologist, Clyde Yancy, MD. This initiative is timed with Heart Awareness Month and joins Peloton’s Health Centered class collection, which is full of discussions with medical advisors about lifestyle goals and managing chronic conditions.

Peloton and Northwestern Medicine Collaborate on Heart Disease Awareness

Howard Chrisman, MD, president and CEO of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, believes their collaboration with Peloton on heart disease awareness can make a real difference. By combining Dr. Yancy’s in-depth knowledge of heart health with Matt Wilpers’s expertise in fitness, participants can learn about heart health and have fun at the same time.

A Fitness Class with a Purpose

This pioneering class is designed to underscore the importance of heart health. As the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention reports, heart disease is a leading cause of death across various demographic groups. To combat this, the class encourages participants to adopt healthy habits alongside Matt and Dr. Yancy, all while enjoying their favorite songs.

Northwestern Medicine’s Innovative Approach to Promoting Heart Health

Delivering heart health promotion on a dynamic platform like Peloton represents a novel approach, states Clyde Yancy, MD, chief of cardiology, Northwestern Medicine. Peloton’s vibrant community can amplify their message, opening up exciting new ways to encourage optimal lifestyle choices.
