Living the single life in Pennsylvania? There might be good news for you if you’re seeking to meet someone special!

Dating can be a difficult journey. In the digital and app-driven era of the 2020s, it sometimes feels even more challenging. Hours spent scrolling through dating apps, negotiating awkward small talk, and dealing with getting ghosted, stood up or catfished can make the dating scene seem rather bleak.

With the challenges of dating, it helps to know if you’re in the right city to boost your chances of finding ‘the one’. Some might even consider moving to a new city for better dating opportunities.

The personal finance website WalletHub conducted a study, revealing the Best and Worst Cities for Singles in 2024. A city in Pennsylvania made it to the Top 20!

The study compared 182 major American cities, considering 35 key factors that contribute to a city’s dating-friendly nature. Here’s a snapshot of the factors considered:

• Singles Gender Balance
• City Accessibility
• Nightlife Options
• Number of Attractions
• Restaurant-Meal Costs
• Average Price for a Two-Person Meal

According to these metrics, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania emerged as one of the top cities for singles in 2024, ranking #18 out of 182 cities. Impressive!

In the major categories of Economics, Fun & Recreation, and Dating Opportunities, Pittsburgh bagged the spots #83, #24, and #36 respectively.

While Pittsburgh may not be the top city in America for singles, it still holds a respectable position. It’s also the only city from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or New York to make the list.

So, what’s your favorite city for dating? As someone who has spent a considerable amount of time in the city, Philadelphia – which ranked at #82 – has my vote.
