Three Local Golf Courses Listed Among Pennsylvania’s Top Courses

LINKS Magazine, a renowned golf publication, has recently listed the best golf courses in Pennsylvania. Among these, three golf courses in Montgomery County have made their Top 10 list.

Merion Golf Club East

The Merion Golf Club East in Ardmore is named among the top golf courses in Pennsylvania. Known as “the finest inland links in the country,” the golf course was designed by esteemed course architect Hugh Wilson and has been made famous by legendary golfers Bobby Jones and Ben Hogan.

The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course

The Wissahickon Clubhouse of The Philadelphia Cricket Club, located in Flourtown, is another top-ranking golf course in Pennsylvania. This course was designed by the renowned A.W. Tillinghast who loved the course so much that he wished for his ashes to be spread over it.

Huntingdon Valley Country Club’s Toomey/Flynn Course

The 18-hole Toomey/Flynn course at the Huntingdon Valley Country Club is also recognized as one of the best golf courses in Pennsylvania for its challenging landscape that tests the prowess of all golfers. This course was designed by William Flynn and Howard Toomey and first opened in 1928.
