TL/DR –

The FBI has discovered approximately 2,400 records related to the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The documents, previously unrecognized as being linked to the JFK case, have been digitized and are being transferred to the National Archives for declassification. The announcement comes after President Trump ordered the declassification and release of all remaining documents related to the assassinations of JFK, Robert F Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.

FBI disclosed 2,400 previously unrecognized records related to the JFK assassination, in compliance with a recent executive order.

The FBI has unearthed thousands of documents related to John F Kennedy’s assassination, in line with an executive order from President Donald Trump.

Unveiled on Tuesday, the FBI found around 2,400 newly inventoried records hitherto unknown to the JFK case file.

“The appropriate notifications of these recent discoveries have been made, and we’re preparing for their transfer to the National Archives for the declassification process,” said the FBI.

This disclosure follows Trump’s order last month for the declassification of all remaining documents relating to JFK’s, Robert F Kennedy’s, and Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassinations.

“This has been long-awaited. Everything will be revealed,” Trump commented.

The mysterious circumstances of JFK’s Dallas assassination in 1963 continue to feed conspiracy theories, with many expressing doubt over the official narrative.

A 2023 Gallup poll showed that 65% of Americans questioned the Warren Commission’s finding that Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole perpetrator.

Trump’s Health Secretary nominee, Robert F Kennedy Jr, claimed in 2023 that there was persuasive evidence suggesting CIA involvement in his uncle’s murder.

In his first term, Trump vowed to reveal all remaining records on JFK’s assassination, but only around 2,800 documents were released after CIA and FBI interventions.

Under former President Joe Biden, nearly 17,000 more documents were unveiled, leaving less than 4,700 records undisclosed.

The National Archives confirms over 99% of the approximated 320,000 documents under the JFK Records Act have been disclosed.
