Maintain Affordable Care Act’s Affordability for Arizonans
TL/DR –
The author, a small-business owner, highlights that affordable, quality healthcare is essential for her business and peace of mind. She credits the Biden administration for making healthcare more affordable through the Inflation Reduction Act, and notes that coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has doubled in Arizona due to these efforts. However, she warns that the tax credits contributing to these lower costs are set to expire in 2025 unless Republicans in Congress agree to make them permanent, potentially forcing many Americans to lose their health coverage.
Impending Healthcare Crisis and its Impact on Small Businesses
The healthcare system stands on the brink of chaos as millions of Americans risk losing their coverage if Republicans gain power.
As a small-business owner, I can attest to the lifesaving benefits of marketplace health insurance. Providing affordable, quality healthcare has given me peace of mind, allowing me to focus on growing my business without fear of unexpected medical bills.

The Biden administration’s Inflation Reduction Act provided middle-class families like mine with premium tax credits, reducing our health care costs. Consequently, a record number of Americans have enrolled in an ACA Marketplace health plan. Thanks to healthcare advocates, ACA coverage in Arizona has more than doubled.
However, without a bipartisan effort, these tax credits will expire by the end of 2025, resulting in devastating price hikes that could leave millions without access to healthcare. Republicans like David Schweikert are more concerned about corporate tax breaks, risking the coverage of Arizonians and millions of Americans.
Congress must act swiftly to extend these tax credits and ensure affordable coverage. If Republicans are serious about keeping costs low, they must prove it to the American people. It’s high time that Republicans protect the healthcare of millions of Americans.
