Dangerous Threats Prompt School Closure
The email, threatening a bombing and shooting, was sent to the school located at 850 Greenhills Drive in Ann Arbor. The threat, despite seeming not credible, led officials to shut down the school and alert the police.
No Intention of Physical Harm
“The sender of the emails aimed to disrupt and close the school, with no intention or plan to cause physical harm,” stated Peter Fayroian, head of the school, in his communication to parents on Thursday night, Jan. 25.
Student No Longer Enrolled
The student involved is no longer enrolled at Greenhills School. School officials refrained from disclosing the student’s age. Fayroian expressed gratitude to the Ann Arbor police, the FBI, and the University of Michigan for assisting with the investigation.
Student Deemed Not a Danger
Authorities confirmed that the student posed no danger to themselves or others, according to Fayroian. Further, he reported that the student’s family is eager to provide necessary support for their child’s growth and development.
