Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) has secured its place as one of the nation’s “Most Wired” healthcare facilities. This recognition comes from the innovative application of health information technology, distinguishing BAMC among the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
CHIME HealthCare’s Most Wired program aims to enhance global health and healthcare through optimal use of IT. The annual survey identifies and recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate best practices in the adoption, implementation, and use of tech.
Army Lt. Col. Bruce Barnes, BAMC’s Chief Information Officer, announced that “BAMC reached Level 8 achievement for both Acute and Ambulatory categories. This recognition places us among the top 11 hospitals in Texas for digital health and as the only recognized Defense Health Agency facility.”
The Digital Health Most Wired survey serves as a comprehensive evaluation and digital maturity report card for global healthcare organizations. BAMC, along with over 50,000 other facilities, excelled in key aspects like infrastructure, cybersecurity, administration, supply chain management, data analytics, and patient engagement.
