Deadly Shooting at Miami Commercial Establishment

A security guard was shot dead in a Miami-area commercial establishment following an altercation on Saturday. The incident also resulted in gunshot wounds to a responding officer and six others, according to Doral Police. The perpetrator was also killed in the incident.

The armed security guard was attempting to intervene in the altercation when he was shot by the suspect, as per Miami-Dade Police.

Police responded to the scene, leading to a firefight. Two officers discharged their firearms, resulting in the suspect’s death and one officer being wounded, according to Miami-Dade Police.

The security guard and the perpetrator were declared dead at the scene.

Six bystanders were struck by gunfire and taken to local hospitals. Their conditions vary, according to police reports.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the wounded officer to JMH Ryder Trauma Center, where he is in stable condition. One critically injured bystander was transported to HCA Kendall Trauma Center.

Additional victims were taken to JHM Emergency Center and HCA Kendall Emergency Center, all reported to be in stable condition.
