Hope Semi-Truck’s 25K Meal Delivery to Local Food Banks

Neal D. Buckwalter, president of the Grand Rapids Michigan congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commended the dedication observed in the efforts to assist those in need.

Feed America reports that a single meal roughly amounts to 1.2 pounds of various foods. This initiative will result in an impressive 14 tons of food being delivered, as stated by the event organizers.

Community Involvement in the Hunger-Relief Effort

A total of 30 local residents have already volunteered to assist in unloading and distributing the meals. The food will be unloaded at a warehouse owned by North Kent Connect, where the different agencies will collect their allotted 1-4 tons of food.
