Ishpeming Lions Club Boosts Local Pantry with Food Drive

The Ishpeming Lions Club recently led a successful food drive for the Society of St. Vincent dePaul Food Pantry in Ishpeming. The food drive received generous support from local businesses like Carpet Specialists, Fox Negaunee, Jubilee Foods, Super One and Turino Chiropractic Center, serving as collection points. Other Lions Clubs from Michigan’s District 10, Upper Peninsula, contributed during their annual conference in Ishpeming.

Nearly 800 pounds of food was collected, with a cash donation of $500 made to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. John and the St. Joseph Conference in Ishpeming, as well as the many beneficiaries of the food pantry, expressed their profound gratitude to all the donors and supporters.

The Ishpeming Lions Club won the Big Can traveling trophy this year, marking a successful food drive initiative. The community looks forward to future collaborations that will benefit the society.
