Asheville Schools Dismiss Early Due to Snowfall

As snow engulfs Asheville on January 19, Asheville City Schools (ACS) are concluding classes early and suspending or cancelling all post-school activities. ACS made this announcement as a safety measure against the snowfall.

Elementary schools concluded at 12:30 p.m. whilst middle and high schools finished at 1:30 p.m. High school students who drove to school on January 19 were let out at noon.

“We are applying salt to the dismissal areas, notably the area between two crosswalks,” stated Jo Landreth from Asheville Middle School in an alert sent to parents. “Pupils should only be boarding vehicles in this area.”
